Austin Christmas Events for 2024

Downtown Holiday Stroll 

This is one Austin Christmas event you shouldn’t miss. Head downtown on December 7th for the 30th annual tree lighting, sing-along, and stroll. There are vendors (perfect for last minute holiday gifts), food trucks, photos with Santa, and more.

Miracle on 5th Street

Sip on Christmas-themed drinks at this pop-up bar at The Eleanor! Take a picture on Santa’s throne, bask in the holiday lights, and enjoy cozy beverages like a Snowball Old Fashioned. 

Ballet Austin’s The Nutcracker

Grab your seat at The Nutcracker for this traditional Austin Christmas event. Enjoy performances from December 6-23 at The Long Center. It’s fun for the whole family.

Peppermint Parkway

You don’t have to leave your car to celebrate the holidays. This drive-through Christmas extravaganza has a mile of holiday displays, dancing characters, and lights. If you do feel like hopping out of the car, you can join in on the Christmas activities, rides, and food.

Austin Trail of Lights

If you love the glow of Christmas lights, you’ll love this Austin Christmas event! The Trail of Lights takes place at Zilker Park, and uses more than 2 million lights for a stunning effect. Plus, this event is free for eligible families in Austin ISD.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar

Support local artists while you holiday shop at this Austin Christmas event. Candles, pottery, jewelry, cards, and more – you can find unique gifts for your entire family.

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar

Enjoy fine art and music at this Austin Christmas event. This is one of the most-visited holiday events and for good reasons. There are over 200 artists sharing their unique pieces, plus a stage where local musicians perform. Grab a snack, drink, and some art!
